This is a picture of my roommates, Sarah and Amanda, and I from last night! The three of us went with a bunch of our friends to Homegrown, which is a fantastic restaurant on Main street, and saw a band perform.  Some of my friends perform in Homegrown concerts, but we didn’t know the band that played last night. Either way, going to Homegrown on a weekday or weekend night is a really fun time. It is a REALLY great thing to do if you’re under 21, because you can get in to enjoy the music no matter your age, you just will not be served alcohol.  Other places on Main Street don’t even let you inside after around 10pm if you are under 21.  There’s something for everyone!

It’s the end?! Already?

Wow. I can’t believe classes are done, and I am finished with my Sophomore year. It seems like just yesterday that I came to UD as a Freshman.  I am so happy to be done with my second year, but it’s also a little freaky because I am half way done and I know I will be graduating college before I know it.

I have already had two finals and my flute jury.  I had my Accounting final my last day of class, and took my Music History exam earlier today.  I don’t know how I did on Accounting..it’s definitely not my thing. But I feel like I ROCKED my music history exam! I studied all the right information and I feel like I did really well.  I won’t know for sure, however, until I get my final grade within a week or so.  Now I only have Hebrew and Sight Singing to go…

When finals are over and I am all moved out, I go home just to leave again.  My parents and I are taking a trip to Italy.  I am SO excited.  I went to Italy over a year ago with my uncle, and ever since I left, I have wanted to go back again.  Now I get to go back!  I am spending some time in Rome and in Florence, Italy.  Italy is the most incredible country!  I have traveled to quite a few destinations abroad, and Italy has been my favorite country I have visited.  My parents don’t know how amazing it, and won’t understand until we’re there! Who knows…maybe my next blog will be from Rome?!

Why is UD the perfect school for me?

Congratulations to all of you in the Class of 2016 that have chosen what college you are attending next Fall.  I want to extend a special congrats to those who chose the University of Delaware.  I have been offered so many incredible opportunities to achieve my goals and dreams since I have come to school here. When I was in high school, I never thought that when I was in college I would be working in Admissions as a Blue Hen Application Manager, or blogging for the Admission Office.  I love taking on new challenges and taking advantage of every opportunity I have the time for, and UD has given me all of that and more.  I have the most amazing group of friends, and have had a fantastic college experience, which I could not imagine having anywhere else.  I love everything about the University of Delaware, especially the fact that it has made me grow so much as a person.  I feel prepared and excited for everything and anything that may come up in the future.  The University of Delaware is the perfect school for me, no doubt. Congrats and welcome, Class of 2016!

For Girl Scout Day (which I mentioned in my previous blog) I was in charge of a station called “Music of the World.” When I was planning for the station, I came across this song and I absolutely LOVE it.  It is from the UK! She’s so funky, and her voice is so powerful. Obsessed!! Next big thing in America? Maybe?

Artist: Emeli Sande

Song Title: Next To Me

Beautiful weather…too bad I’ve been sick

It has been absolutely gorgeous outside the past few days.  Unfortunately, I got really sick on Monday and wasn’t able to enjoy the weather as much as I wanted to.  I went to Student Health on Monday night and they were absolutely wonderful.  The nurse was the best, and took such good care of me.  I am almost 100% better, and am almost done making up the work that I missed when I wasn’t able to go to class.  Now I can (hopefully) make it to the end of my Sophomore year without getting sick again! =)

I went on a retreat from Friday night to Saturday night with SAI (my sorority), and had an absolute blast. It was so much fun and I got to spend some quality time with my sisters! =) Already can’t wait until the retreat next semester!

Want to STUDY ABROAD as a Freshman?!

Wow, three posts in one day! I’m on a roll! =) I was asked a fantastic question by one of my followers, and I felt as though it is a question a lot of incoming freshman have-so I thought I’d share:

themusicisdying asked: Would it be possible to study abroad as a freshman?!?! I would really like to go. If it is possible i feel you would need to get all the applications stuff done this semester so it would be to late in the fall!

The answer to this question is: YES! Freshman can definitely study abroad during the winter session. In fact, there are some freshman ONLY trips that the University of Delaware offers every year. Here is a link to all of the trips we will be offering this winter: http://international.udel.edu/DB/PUB_ProgramList.aspx

I hope this is helpful! =) Enjoy browsing all of the incredible Study Abroad programs that are offered at UD!
